OPERATION SUMMER SAFE is the name of the service that Unilabs and the HPA Saúde Group are providing this summer, related to the global coverage of COVID-19 testing posts in the Algarve.
The project includes a Molecular Biology Laboratory, based in Faro, inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Dr. Rogério Bacalhau, Mayor of Faro, and the President of the Algarve Tourism Association, Dr. João Fernandes.
This mobile laboratory, located next to Forum Algarve, has the capacity to carry out 15,000 tests per day and represents an investment of 1.5 million euros.
At the same time, a network of specific locations and routes programmed in hotel units will also be created, increasing the ease and convenience of access to these essential services.
OPERATION SUMMER SAFE will significantly increase the response capacity in the region, in a critical period for all the thousands of visitors, creating the conditions for a response with greater comfort, speed, and safety.
